This dessert really caught my attention, not because it was almost effortless to make, but because of its deep purple color. You don't see many desserts using plums, but I thought a galette showcased the plum beautifully. Although it wasn't made with the deep red plums that I was hoping for, the purples, reds, and oranges really made this dessert pop. All you have to do is layer thinly sliced plums in a circular pattern around a rolled out pie crust (I used a pre-made kind). Make sure to leave a 2-inch border so you are able to pleat the crust around the edges. Wash the exposed crust with milk, sprinkle [ground] almonds mixed with sugar, and pop it in the oven! Make sure your plums are ripe or else your galette will turn out a little tart.
